The Honors College Ambassadors corps is composed of a diverse and dedicated group of outstanding Honors College students who desire to hone their leadership skills, while also contributing to the Honors College legacy. These student leaders serve as representatives of the Honors College at a variety of internal and external events.

The Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate research conference which highlights and recognizes the research taking place across Georgia State's campus. The GSURC Student Planning Committee consists of nine Honors College students who assist with event planning and execution.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,219 students for excellence in academics on the 2014 Fall Semester President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of the University of North Georgia (UNG), recognized more than 1,000 students for their academic performance during fall semester 2014 by naming them to the President's List and President's Honor Roll.

Congratulations to the 2,685 undergraduate and graduate students at Georgia State University recognized for earning their degrees at Georgia State’s commencement at the Georgia Dome on Dec. 17, 2014.

The university's fall commencement ceremonies were held Dec. 13-14 on UNG's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. This semester, UNG conferred some 670 degrees. Additionally, 18 graduating members of the Corps of Cadets took oaths as second lieutenants in the National Guard or U.S. Army.

Senior honorees are nominated by faculty and staff, and then a selection committee chooses the honorees based on leadership, scholarship, spiritual commitment and community service. The honor is one of the most coveted among senior class members.

Dr. Nayef H. Samhat delivered his first commencement address since becoming Wofford College's president at the 160th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Degrees were conferred to about 360 graduates. Samhat became president in July 2013 and his inauguration was held April 25 of this year.
